Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 13, 2026

Ember (β€œwe,” β€œus,” or β€œour”) operates the Ember mobile app (the β€œApp”), an invite-only social app. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using Ember, you agree to this policy.

1. Information we collect

Account information. Your email address, a username, and your date of birth (used only to confirm you meet our minimum age requirement; stored privately, not shown on your profile).

Profile information. Any display name, bio, avatar/photo, and interests you add.

Content you create. Posts, comments, stories, direct and group messages, reactions, photos, and videos you share.

Usage information. Basic activity needed to run features like streaks, digital-wellbeing tools, and notifications (e.g. session timestamps, in-app activity).

Device & push information. If you enable notifications, a device push token so we can deliver them. We do not use third-party analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting SDKs, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.

Location. Ember does not request, collect, or use your device location.

We do not collect payment information, and Ember does not sell your personal data.

2. How we use your information

3. How information is shared

We do not sell your personal information.

4. Safety & moderation

Ember has a zero-tolerance policy for objectionable content and abusive behavior. You can report, block, and mute other users in-app. We review reports and may remove content or suspend accounts that break our rules.

5. Data retention & account deletion

We keep your information while your account is active. You can permanently delete your account any time from within the App:

Profile β†’ menu (☰) β†’ Delete Account

This permanently removes your profile, posts, messages, photos, uploaded files, and associated data. It cannot be undone. Some records may be retained where required by law or for safety (e.g. records of prior abuse reports), in de-identified form where possible.

6. Children's privacy

Ember is intended for users aged 16 and older, in line with our App Store age rating. Users under 15 are not permitted to create an account. Where local ratings permit access at 15, users aged 15–16 receive enhanced protections (including private-by-default accounts and restricted features), and full access is available at 17 and older, in line with applicable UAE regulations.

7. Security

We use industry-standard measures (including encrypted transport and access controls) to protect your information. No method is 100% secure, but we work hard to protect your data.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information. You can delete directly in-app (Section 5), or contact us for other requests.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We'll revise the β€œLast updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you in-app.
